Clear (ceramic) braces at Bloom cost $4,000 to $5,500. What sets your fee, how it compares with metal braces, lingual braces, and clear aligners, and how insurance, HSA or FSA funds, and payment plans lower what you pay.

How Much Do Clear Braces Cost in Long Beach and Garden Grove?

Clear braces at Bloom cost $4,000 to $5,500 for most cases. Your exact fee depends on how complex your case is, and your orthodontist sets it at a free consultation at our Long Beach or Garden Grove office.

Clear braces use tooth-colored ceramic brackets and white wires, so they blend in with your teeth while working the same way as traditional braces. This page covers what moves the fee within that range, how it compares with Bloom's other options, and the ways patients bring their out-of-pocket cost down.

Clear Braces Cost at Bloom

Option at Bloom Fee range Typical treatment time
Clear (ceramic) braces $4,000 to $5,500 12 to 24 months
Traditional metal braces $3,500 to $5,500 12 to 24 months
Lingual braces $4,000 to $6,000 12 to 24 months
Clear aligners $3,500 to $6,000 6 to 24 months

The fee ranges are Bloom's current published fees. Treatment times come from our clear braces, lingual braces, and clear aligners pages, and the metal braces time is set by our orthodontists.

What Sets Your Fee Within the Range

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) says treatment cost is influenced by the type, complexity, and duration of treatment. For clear braces at Bloom, that comes down to three things:

  1. How much movement your teeth need. Mild crowding or spacing usually sits toward the lower end. Bite problems such as an overbite, underbite, or crossbite take more work.
  2. How long treatment runs. Most clear braces cases take 12 to 24 months, and longer treatment means more adjustment visits.
  3. What your plan includes. The AAO suggests asking what is included in the quoted price and what isn't, such as appointments and retainers. Your treatment plan at Bloom spells this out before you start.

Clear Braces Compared With Metal Braces

The AAO describes ceramic braces as working much like metal braces, with tooth-colored or clear brackets that are less noticeable. It also notes they may need more careful maintenance. At Bloom, metal braces start lower, at $3,500, and both top out at $5,500, so for many patients the difference in fee is small. The choice usually comes down to how much the look of the brackets matters to you.

Ways to Lower What You Pay

PPO orthodontic insurance. We accept most PPO orthodontic insurance plans and check your benefits before your first appointment. The AAO notes that insurance typically covers a percentage of the fee or a fixed benefit amount, often with a lifetime maximum.

HSA or FSA funds. IRS Publication 502 lists braces among the dental expenses you can count as medical care, so orthodontic treatment is an eligible expense under most HSA and FSA plans.

Monthly payment plans. Bloom offers low and no-interest payment plans so you can start without a large upfront payment. We go over the terms at your consultation. See insurance and financing.
