EarlyOrthodonticTreatmentinGardenGrove
Garden Grove families can start early orthodontic treatment at Bloom Orthodontics & Bloom Smile Studio on Garden Grove Blvd. Our board-certified orthodontists, Dr. Thao Nguyen Vu and Dr. Judy Nguyen, look at growth, bite, and incoming teeth, then recommend early treatment only when timing makes a real difference.
Our early interceptive treatment page explains Phase 1 in more detail.
Why Age 7 Matters
The American Association of Orthodontists advises a first orthodontic visit by age 7. By then, enough permanent teeth have usually come in to spot developing jaw or bite problems, even when everything looks fine. Parents can schedule directly. A referral from your child's dentist is not required.
Signs Worth a Visit
- Baby teeth lost very early or very late
- Trouble chewing or biting
- Mouth breathing
- Upper teeth sitting inside the lower teeth
- Crowded or blocked teeth
- Thumb sucking that continues past the early years
How Early Treatment Works Here
If your child needs Phase 1, treatment usually runs 6 to 18 months. It may use a palate expander, partial braces, or another appliance chosen for the specific problem. A rest period follows while permanent teeth finish coming in, and a shorter Phase 2 may come later. Phase 1 at Bloom costs $2,500 to $3,500, and many insurance plans include Phase 1 benefits.
Your Child's First Appointment
